TOUR DETAILS:
DAY 1- Flight to Kyrgyzstan
DAY 2- Bishkek
Early morning arrival at the airport of Manas. Meeting with the eco-tour team and transfer to Bishkek. After accommodation in a guest house and some rest, we will visit Bishkek, a city of contrasts with the Soviet architecture and green spaces and the Grand Osh Bazaar. (Overnight in Night at the guest house).

DAY 3- Visiting the National Natural Park “Ala-Archa”
Hiking in the high-altitude zones up to 3000 m a.s.l. where you will find:

Trollius lilacinus (sub-endemic plant)
Distribution: the well-known "folk" name - alpine rose, but more accurate, botanical - hegemony (globe flower) lilac. This flower has a limited distribution in the high mountains of Central Asia: Dzungaria, Tarbagatai, Pamir-Alai and Tien-Shan. Distribution area includes China, Central Asia and the Altai Mongolian Altai. It grows in the alpine zone (above 2500 m a.s.l.) near the snowfields and the alpine meadows.
Phenology: blooms in May-July, fruiting in July-August.

Primula turkestanica (sub-endemic plant)

Distribution: Sub-endemic of Kyrgyzstan (Kirghizstan) – the Central Tien-Shan, the Large Kemin River basin, the Kyrgyz Ala-Too. It grows in the alpine zone (above 2500 m a.s.l.) to glaciers, often in the water near the shore of alpine streams.
Phenology:
blooms in May-July, fruiting in August.

Rosa platyacantha var. kokanica (endemic):

Distribution: The stem height of 2 m, golden-yellow flowers, fruit globose, red and black. Grows mainly in Central Asia. During our eco-tour we can find this plant in the valley of Alamedin which is located not so far from Ala-Archa National Park.

DAY 4- Botanical walk to the gorge “Issyk-Ata” in the morning where we will find:
Еremurus tianschanicus - Henningia altissima (ornamental plant)

Distribution: widespread among the steppe vegetation in the foothills of the loess in the lower and middle zones of the mountains of Western Tien-Shan and North Pamir-Alai, forms pure thickets or fescue eremurus steppe in the Kyrgyz Ala-Too, in Turkestan Range comes to juniper forest, in Talas Ala-Too - a coniferous forest.
Phenology: blooms in July. Plant has a height of 150-180 cm, inflorescence - 30-40 sterile bracts. The flowers are pale pink, wide open, 3-3.5 cm in diameter. Very beautiful. Refers to the most late-species of the genus. Prospective cultivation for green cities of Central Asia and the broader culture tests, mainly in areas with a continental climate.
Eremurus zoae (endemic)
Distribution: This plant is endemic to Kyrgyzstan and included in the Red Book. Phenology: blooms in May, fruiting in June-July


DAY 5- Eco-tour on the route Bishkek - Kegety gorge - Issyk-Kul
Transfer to the northern shore of Issyk-Kul lake (4-5 hours). Issyk-Kul is a famous and marvelous lake and the second highest large lake in the world after Titicaca. We will stop at Bosteri village at a guest house.

DAY 6- Grigorievksoe gorge
Swimming in the lake in the morning. Visiting the Museum "Ruh-Ordo" in Cholpon-Ata. Afternoon - visit to Grigoriev Gorge in coniferous spruce forests.

DAY 7- Karakol
Transfer to the city of Karakol, accommodation at a guest house.

DAY 8- Karakol gorge
Eco-tour to the Karakol gorge. A walk through the valley of Orchids and Leontopódium meadows. At the evening coming back to our guest house at Karakol. Saussurea involucrate (the Red Book Plant, sub-endemic plant).
Distribution: This is a very rare species, sub-endemic of Kyrgyzstan (Kazakhstan, China). It is included in the Red Book of the KR. Highly original and in many ways mysterious perennial plant, familiar mostly climbers. It grows on rocks, pebbles and rocky slopes of the ancient moraines (from 2800 m to the upper limit of the vegetation distribution).
Phenology: blooms in July-August, fruiting in August-September.

DAY 9- Eco-tour to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul: visiting Barskoon gorge and the Dead Lake
Berberis kaschgarica (medicinal plant, honey plant) Distribution: This species is found in the Tien-Shan and the western regions of China. It grows on the slopes of the valleys. Phenology: blooms in May and June, fruiting in September-October.

DAY 10- Song-Kol
Transfer to Song-Kol Lake which is located on 3000 m a.s.l. The road will take 6 hours. On the eco-tour way we will stop at the village for visiting a workshop of the yurta maker. Within 1 hour they will explain and show us how they are making the Kyrgyz yurta, which is still popular in Kyrgyzstan and remain still as a symbol of the Kyrgyz nationality. At the evening we will arrive to Song-Kol Lake and will install our tent camping. Night under the tents.

DAY 11- The day starts early morning on high pastures, after breakfast we will go for trekking and see a local flora. Dinner and night under the tents
ENDEMIC PLANTS OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF KYRGYZSTAN (PART II) Bishkek - Toktogul – Arstanbab-Ata (walnut forest) (total – 8 days .

DAY 12- Kyzyl-Oi village
Transfer to Kyzyl-Oi village which is located alone Kokomeren River. We will descent from high mountains till 1300 m to reach the village we cross huge Jumgal valley. For lunch we will stop at Chaek village and at the same time to buy more provisions for next days of our eco-tour. Accommodation at a guest house.

DAY 13- Uch Chat
Transfer to Uch-Chat pasture, it takes about 5 hours. Today we will climb again till 2600 m a.s.l. to study a local flora. Night under the tents. Salvia vvedenskii (endemic plant, honey plant) This ornamental plant is endemic to Kyrgyzstan and included in the Red Book. Distribution: It grows in rocky-rocky habitats at altitudes 1900-1200 m a.s.l. Phenology: blooms in May and June, fruiting in July.

DAY 14- Trekking to Borkorboz lake
After breakfast we will start our eco-tour trekking to Borkorboz Lake which is located on 3500 m a. s. l. On the way we will see and study a rich local flora of this beautiful and colorful place. At the evening we will come back to our camping. Night under the tents. Phlomoides korovinii (endemic plant, honey plant) This ornamental plant is endemic to Kyrgyzstan. Distribution: It grows in rocky-rocky habitats at altitudes 900-2200 m a.s.l. Phenology: blooms in June and July, fruiting in August.

DAY 15- Transfer to Toktogul village
Transfer to Toktogul village (2-3 hours). On the way to the village to study a local flora in Suusamyr valley and the Chychkan Natural Reserve. Accommodation at Ilatbu’s guest house. Dinner under the yurta and night at the guest house.

DAY 16- Toktogul
Visiting local farmers and agricultural fields: the local farmer will show us his fields and gardens and explain how he manages with his field. Afternoon we will visit a sacred salted mountains Shamshykal. At the evening we will come back to Ilatbu’s guest house where grandchildren of Ilatbu will make for us a short concert of traditional music. Night at the guest house.

DAY 17- Transfer to Arstanbab-Ata walnut forest (6-7 hours)
This relict walnut forest of Kyrgyzstan is located in Jalal-Abad and Osh regions in the western and south-western slopes of the Fergana and Chatkal mountain ranges of Tien-Shan and it is one of the valuable natural resources of the country. Accommodation at a local guesthouse. Phlomoides kurpsaica. Endemic of Kyrgyzstan, northern spurs of the Fergana mountain range, gorge of Kara-Suu river, about 15 km east of the town of Kara-Kul. Juno zenaidae Endemic of Kyrgyzstan. Decorative plant flowering in April-June. It grows on clay habitats of trees and shrubs at an altitude of 1300-2600 m a.s.l.

DAY 18- Excursion to the big and small waterfalls
Excursion to the big and small waterfalls Arstanbap-Ata, hike uphill Babash-Ata, visiting walnut and pistachio forests. Primula eugeniae (endemic plant, ornamental plant) Distribution: It grows on limestone rocks, among a juniper forest at an altitude of 2800-3200 m. Endemic of Kyrgyzstan (ridges of Chatkal and Baubash-Ata), relatively rare, insufficiently studied (till now it was known only in one place). This plant is a real stenobiont because it grows in places with a certain combination of conditions of topography, soil, moisture, light, climate and therefore it is characterized by a high degree of vulnerability and risk of extinction. This ornamental plant deserves introduction to the culture and cultivation may contribute to its conservation. Phenology: flowering and fruiting in June-July. Campanula euganiae (endemic plant, ornamental plant) This ornamental plant is endemic of Kyrgyzstan and included in the Red Book. istribution: It grows on limestone rocks at altitudes of 1800 - 2800 m. Phenology: blooms in August, fruiting in September Other accompanying endemic plants: Phlomoidescordifolia, Phlomoides adylovii. Juglans regia L. Distribution: Kyrgyzstan is one of the centers of origin of walnut. The culture of walnut began in ancient times and it gave a lot of varieties: the variety seen in the number of leaflets with pinnate leaves, which are sometimes even in one piece, in the direction of the branches, the degree of fragility of the woody fruit and so on. The life span from 200-300 years to 2,000 years. Phenology: During summer it is possible to observe the development of the fruit, it ripens at the end of August.

DAY 19- Transfer to Toktogul (5-6 h)
In Toktogul village we will stop at Ilatbu's guest house. She is a teacher of French language at a local school and Head of the Nongovernmental organization “Jash-Muun” which develops Kyrgyz traditional handicrafts. Here we will have an opportunity to discover crafts Kyrgyz carpets. Night at the guest house.

DAY 20- Bishkek
Back to Bishkek, it takes 5 hours of driving. Farewell dinner at the restaurant. Night at the guest house.

DAY 21- Flight back
Transfer to airport.
